Making Math Competitive
A former academic seeking a career in public education as a math teacher. A believer in high standards. Passionate about mathematics and numeracy, and public education preparing children of all socioeconomic backgrounds to be skilled learners.
I make the classroom a safe place to do math. This fosters a healthy sense of competition in my young students. During my lessons, students eagerly raise their hands to answer questions. While I circulate around the room, they are excited to share their work with me. In front of their peers, they engage in meaningful discussions about different problem-solving approaches. These positive classroom dynamics help my students to excel on assessments and deepen their understanding of math.
I am well-prepared to teach math. My rigorous academic training continued through my doctoral studies. A lifelong education in math has given me a strong foundation in mathematical concepts, and I am confident in my ability to explain math clearly and accurately.
As a former professor at Stanford University with a deep commitment to literacy and numeracy, I am dedicated to guiding students toward a well-rounded education. My time at Stanford also highlighted the importance of fostering diversity and inclusion in academia, and I now aspire to make an impact at the foundational stages of education by serving students from diverse backgrounds.
